We have the following ‘holiday’ trips in the pipeline, in addition to our regular training weekends. Keep checking this page and the trips calendar for updates.

When a trip is ready to take bookings an email will be sent out by the trip organiser containing the full trip info and the sign up link. Please wait for this email to sign up – any early requests will not count! Questions about the sign up process should be directed to the Trips Coordinator (trips@susac.com).

If you have questions about a specific trip then please contact the trip organiser. The Trips Coordinator can put you touch with the relevant trip organiser, if you don’t have their contact details. If you can’t see the place you want to dive on this list, or if you would like to organise a trip, then please let the Trips Coordinator know.

NB: the trip costs given on this page are just estimates! They are included to help you plan your scuba budget for the year. Be aware that the cost of individual trips may change, although hopefully not by very much.

The Trips:

12th-18th April 2017 (Easter Trip) – Croatia

The SUSAC Easter Trip is the premiere trip of the year and a great opportunity to get in some fun, sunshine and diving! This year we are headed to magical Croatia to dive in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea with Trogir Dive centre. We’ll be staying in Okrug Gornji, which is a small resort near Split. This is a particularly good opportunity for new divers and drysuit virgins to get in some practice. Keep a look out for octopus!

Trip organiser: Emma K

Diver grade: All!

Estimated cost: £600 + food, booze and UK transfers (and extra baggage if required)

NB: The sign up deadline for the group flight is past but you may still be able to join the trip – speak to M for more info

28th-30th July 2017 – Portland

Jack is taking SUSAC on an adventure somewhere new, diving on lots of exciting 30+m wrecks. Accommodation will be at YHA Portland, diving with Scimitar Diving.

Trip Organiser: Jack Whitely

Diver Grade: SD+

Estimated Cost: £300 + food

26th-27thth August 2017 – Farnes

The Farne Islands are known for a fantastically friendly colony of 6,000 grey seals, who love to play with divers. We will be staying in the Joiners’ Shop bunkhouse and diving from the Moby, a RIB skippered by SUSAC’s old friend Graeme. If you’d like a closer look at the boat and the diving, here is a video made by one of our members on a SUSAC trip to Farnes back in October 2013.

Estimated cost:  £180 + evening meals and booze

2nd-9th September 2017 – Lochaline

Chris says this about Lochaline: ‘Personally I think this the best place to dive in the UK – and possibly Europe. You get wrecks, plenty of life, walls (down to 100 metres), basking sharks if we get out to Coll and Tiree and more. We would stay at Lochaline Dive Centre – surprise but thats in the village of Lochaline. We will dive off Sound Diver one – with either Alan or Mark as Skipper  – those who have been before know who I mean. Wrecks are  – Hispania, Rondo, Shuna, Thesis and Breda, plus Tapti if we get to Coll. www.lochalinedivecentre.co.uk/

Trip Organiser: Chris Aspinal

Diver Grade: SD+

Estimated Cost: £700 + food

NB – This trip is open to bookings, there are still some spaces left!

6th-8th October 2017 – St Abbs

St Abbs head is a national nature reserve with plenty of life to be seen. We will be based out of Eyemouth for two days of diving on the palatial hardboat Wavedancer, skippered by Billy. The accommodation will be in the Home Arms Guesthouse B&B. This trip is particular good for relatively new divers, especially for those diving in the sea for the first time or making the transition to diving in drysuits. For an idea of what to expect, check out this trip report from Aug 2015.
